Define the Rod Your Brand Sells

This is the form for a production program: you are deciding what goes on your shelves, in your carton and under your logo. Work through the groups below and we come back with a costed build sheet — blank, components, cosmetics, packaging, MOQ, sample cost and freight — within one business day.

Two answers shape everything else: how many, and what it has to sell for. Give us the quantity per model and the retail price you are aiming at, and we engineer towards that number instead of quoting a rod you then have to talk down. If two of your choices will not work together — a baitcasting reel on a spinning blank, PE 0.6 behind a heavy shore jig — the page flags it here, before it reaches a production order.

1Start With the Commercial Brief

You do not need to know every component yet. Tell us what you are launching and the price position you need; we use that brief to narrow the build before the technical review.

2Start From a Model, or Start From Scratch

Picking an existing model fills in its real measurements — length, power, line rating and recommended reel — and everything after that becomes a change you are making to a rod that already exists. Leave it blank to specify from nothing.

Optional. Choose a model to prefill, then change anything you like below.

3Carbon & Blank Construction

T-value is the tensile modulus of the carbon cloth in tons. Higher T is lighter and more sensitive, but more brittle and more expensive — most volume programs sit at 24T–30T with a 40T reinforcement layer only where it pays off.

Higher T = lighter, stiffer, more brittle, higher cost.

Unpainted carbon is the lightest and shows the cloth.

4Target Fish, Bait & Line

Lure type and line decide the taper more than anything else: soft plastics and jig heads need a sensitive tip and no stretch, crankbaits need a softer blank that gives, and metal lures need a fast backbone to drive the hook home.

Curly tail and paddle tail are soft plastics; metal jigs and spoons are the 'iron' lures; glow and UV patterns are for night and deep water.

Thinner line casts further and spooks fewer fish, but it is weaker and abrades fast on rock. Best practice: the thinnest braid your structure and fish size allow, paired with a fluorocarbon leader. Everything listed here is in stock as a neutral-specification spool.

Braid has almost no abrasion resistance — a fluorocarbon leader is what actually survives contact with rock, teeth and structure.

5Guide Train

The reel type decides the whole guide layout: spinning rods need a large first guide to control line flow, casting rods run a trigger handle with smaller, lower-profile guides.

Drives guide size, spacing and handle shape.

Sizes in stock. Reel-to-rod mismatches are flagged in the summary panel.

Double-foot guides are stiffer and standard on carp, surf and boat rods.

6Reel Seat & Handle

This is where a rod is recognised as yours. Seat model, grip material and grip shape are all tooled to your drawing.

7Branding & Packaging

Your name goes on the rod, the sock and the box. Retail-ready packaging is quoted separately from the rod because carton tooling is a one-off cost. Reels, line and lures are labelled separately too — see the last question in this group.

Kits ship in one carton on one purchase order. Note the MOQ rises when reels, line or lures are included — see the minimum-order table before you choose.

The rod always carries your brand. Reels, line and lures are bought in from component makers — we do not manufacture them and we do not put our own name on them. They can be printed with your brand from 1,000 pcs, or shipped under the maker's own brand, an unbranded neutral pack, or a house brand we propose to your target price.

8Quantity, Timing & Contact

Two different minimums apply, and it is worth knowing which one you are buying before we quote: rod-only programs run from 300 pieces per model, while anything that puts a reel, line or lures in the carton starts at 500 — and 1,000 if those components also carry your brand. Mixed rod models in one container are always fine.

Each model is its own mandrel and its own print run, which is why the minimum is quoted per model rather than per order.

The single most useful number you can give us. It decides the blank, the guide train and the packaging before we quote anything.

Tells us whether to quote a one-off or a program price, and whether dedicated tooling pays for itself.

Rod programs run 35–45 days after sample approval, plus freight. Season deadlines are the usual reason a program slips, so tell us early.

Compliance testing is booked against your market, not ours — telling us now avoids a shipment held at the border.

Fields marked * are required. Everything else is optional — the more you select, the more accurate the first quotation. Nothing here is shared outside this inquiry.

Matched Kits

One Carton, One Order — and Honest Labels

Most importers buy the rod from one factory, the reel from a second and the terminal tackle from a third, then pay three times to consolidate. We can assemble the whole set to the specification above and ship it together. One thing we will not do is put our own badge on someone else's reel: the rod is ours to build, the components are sourced to your brief, and how they are labelled is your call.

Rod (built by us)

Your blank, guides, seat, handle, cosmetics and packaging. Always carries your brand — 300 pcs per model, any spec you configure above.

Reel (sourced to your brief)

Tell us the size, gear ratio, drag and price point and we come back with two or three options from component makers — your brand from 1,000 pcs, or theirs below that.

Line & leader pack

Braid and fluorocarbon at the rating we recommend above, spooled on the reel or boxed as its own retail SKU. Branded spools from 1,000 pcs; unbranded bulk below that.

Lures & terminal tackle

Soft plastics, metal jigs or hard lures chosen for your species and method, bagged and header-carded. Mixed selections are normal — a starter set usually runs five to ten pieces.

How the minimum order splits

A rod program and a kit program are not the same purchase, and quoting them as if they were is how container deals fall apart at the last minute. Each part carries its own minimum because each part is made by someone else.

What you orderMinimumWhat it covers
Rod only — your spec, your brand300 pcs / model Blank, guide train, reel seat, handle, cosmetics and packaging, all to your specification. Mixed models in one container are welcome.
Rod + reel, + line or + lure set500 pcs The rod plus matched components in one carton. Below 500 the component makers will not open a production slot for a custom specification.
Full kit, or components printed with your brand 1,000 pcs Your logo on the reel body, line spool or lure cards means their own tooling and print run — that is where the 1,000 starts.

We quote each part on its own line so you can see exactly what the reel costs versus the rod — and drop a component if it does not work for your market. Nothing is bundled into a single number you cannot check.

Why Bother Specifying

Four Things a Configured Enquiry Gets You That an Email Doesn't

A real number, not a range

Guide material and carbon grade are the two largest cost drivers in a blank. Tell us which you want and we price the actual rod, not a "from $X" placeholder.

No sample roulette

A configured spec means the first sample arrives close to what you sell. Most programs are approved within two sample rounds.

Your brand on the rod

Logo method, colour and packaging are part of the build, not an afterthought you negotiate later at extra cost.

Locked for reorders

We keep your specification on file, so a repeat order twelve months later matches the first one exactly.

Not Sure Which Options to Pick?

Send us a photo or a link to a rod you like and we will reverse-engineer the specification for you — then you can approve the build sheet before any tooling starts.
